Choose Your Worm Reducer Series
Each series is engineered for a specific set of operating conditions. Select the series that matches your environment, then drill into individual model pages for full specifications, dimensional drawings, and selection tables.

EPNMRV Aluminium Worm Gearbox
Die-cast ADC12 aluminium housing with finned heat dissipation. 40% lighter than cast iron at the same torque class. IEC B5/B14 motor flanges, IP55 sealed, hollow or solid output shaft options. The default choice for packaging, food processing, and materials handling where weight matters.

Stainless Steel Worm Reducer
304 stainless steel housing with IP69K high-pressure washdown rating, VITON (FKM) oil seals, and NSF H1 food-grade lubricant. Engineered for dairy, meat, beverage, bakery, and pharmaceutical environments where daily caustic cleaning destroys painted aluminium gearboxes. Both IEC and NEMA motor flanges available.

WPA / WPS Cast Iron Worm Reducer
FG260 cast iron housing for heavy-duty industrial applications where aluminium lacks the structural rigidity and vibration damping required. Solid shaft input as standard, with motor-flange (D), hollow-shaft (K), and five shaft-direction (A/S/O/X/Z) variants. The workhorse of Australian mining, water treatment, and heavy manufacturing.

Double-Stage Worm Speed Reducer
Two worm gear sets in a single factory-aligned FG260 cast iron housing. Ratios from 100:1 to 3,600:1 for ultra-low-speed, high-torque applications that single-stage reducers cannot reach without unacceptable efficiency losses. Typical applications include dam penstock actuators, large clarifier drives, and mining rotary equipment requiring output speeds below 5 RPM.

EPS Helical-Worm Combination Gearbox
A helical pre-stage increases the overall efficiency of a worm gear train from a typical 60-85% to 80-92% by reducing the load on the worm mesh. This combination unit is the correct engineering choice when you need the compact right-angle output of a worm gear but cannot tolerate the thermal losses of a pure worm drive in continuous-duty applications.

Customised & High-Torque Worm Drives
For non-standard shaft configurations, extreme ratios, or output torques beyond our catalogue range, our engineering team develops bespoke worm reducer assemblies. Past projects include a 28,000 Nm slew drive for a solar tracker farm in South Australia and a triple-reduction unit for a dam penstock actuator in Tasmania.

3 Steps to Find the Right Worm Reducer
Whether you are an engineer specifying a new drive train or a maintenance supervisor replacing an existing unit, this process ensures a correct selection.
Define Your Output Requirements
Determine the required output torque (Nm) and output speed (RPM) under worst-case operating conditions. Apply a service factor for your load type: 1.0 for uniform loads, 1.25 for moderate shock, 1.75 for heavy shock. If your required ratio exceeds 60:1, you will need a double-stage WPE unit.
Match Your Operating Environment
Indoor packaging line with overhead mounting? Choose EPNMRV aluminium for light weight. Daily caustic washdown in a dairy plant? Choose EPSS stainless steel. Outdoor mining conveyor with belt-drive input? Choose WPA cast iron with solid shaft.
Verify Thermal Capacity
In Australian conditions (ambient temperatures regularly exceeding 40 degrees C), always verify that the gearbox thermal power rating is sufficient at your site temperature, not just the catalogue baseline of 20 degrees C. Our engineers can provide thermal verification for any model at your specific site conditions.
