Roller chain is definitely the style of chain most typically employed for transmis-sion of mechanical energy on many forms of domestic, industrial and agricultural machinery, such as conveyors, printing presses, automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles.
Roller chain sizes are determined by four principal dimensions: pitch, within width on the roller link, roller diameter, and plate thickness. Pitch, the distance in inches between centers of adjacent ?exing joints, forms the proportional basis for the remaining dimensions. Chain size is designated through the pitch dimension, and chain length is expressed with regards to pitch, or in feet and inches.
